" But he was wounded for our transgressions, he
was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our
peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
Isa 53:5
Jesus is the only one who can turn scars into stars in our lives.
Only He can make us reflectors of His glory, that we might shine for Him.
Before we came to the Lord, we were all scarred by sin and held
captive by the enemy of our souls. There was no way out, except for
the finished work of Jesus at Calvary, which was able to save
and deliver our souls from sin and death.
The wounds which scarred our Savior caused His precious blood to
flow, washing our sins away to make us whiter than the new fallen snow.
It wasn't the nails that held our Lord on the cross, it was His love
for all men. When Jesus hung on Calvary's old rugged tree in our place,
we were on His mind.
We have been redeemed and set free, because Jesus was willing to pay
the debt for our sins. "He was wounded because of our transgressions and bruised
for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with
His stripes, we are healed."
There is no other like our Lord and no greater friend who will keep us
safe in Him. What great joy we have in knowing the Savior, who is Lord
of our lives. When we face temptations and trials, Jesus has provided a way of
escape. When we are afflicted, He is our Healer and help. When we need a refuge
for our souls, Jesus will always be there. All we need can be found in our Blessed Savior, if we only trust and lean on Him.
When we come to the end of life's journey, we have one who will be waiting with
outstretched arms to welcome us to our new heavenly home. Can you imagine walking the streets of gold one day with our Blessed Lord and being reunited with loved ones and friends gone on before? We have this promise and a blessed hope that can be found only in the Lord Jesus Christ. Where else could we go for this blessed assurance? "Let Go and Let God" is more than just a saying, it is the way to have true victory in Jesus!
We have so much for which to be thankful. Jesus paid it all and all to Him
we owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, but Jesus washed us white as snow. One day
we shall behold Him in all His glory. Until that day, we shall never cease to
give thanks unto the one who hung the stars, bore the stripes, and in Christ,
we are made free, yes; free indeed! Isn't it a joy to know that Jesus walks beside us each new day? He still changes scars into stars for our good and His glory. We serve an "Awesome God" who is worthy of all praise and glory.
